I was out training the Clematis up the trellis earlier and this guy could have cared less how close I got. Best viewed large. I had no idea their backs look like they are plated on.
@doorknee71 Thanks Dawn. I never knew they were colored like this. @amandalomonaco You make me laugh - and he did have a hairly butt.
The lens is my second Tamron and it is a 60mm f/2. I am very happy with it.
Great shot - and good for you with the new lens! My beloved Tamron multi-purpose lens gave up the ghost in February, right after I started this project. Still mourning!
@lyno I am loving the Tamron. And I got the guy at my local camera store to meet the price of B&H so I think I did well on the price - and got to use it for two weeks before deciding. Of course I knew after two pictures....
@redrucksack Thanks Eva. I was right on top of this guy and he didn't care. @melorac Thank you Carole. @marlboromaam Thanks Maggie. @judithg Thanks Judith. I never tried to get that close to a fly before. @sugarmuser Thank you Sharon.
@paulineb Thanks Pauline. He chose the flower. @windridge Thanks Susan. He didn't care how close I got. @tobi Thanks Santina @wannabe Catherine - I've never been that close on purpose before. @lwain Thanks Lindy. I was going to take a picture of the Clematis and there he was.
@ladyjane Thank you Jane. The iridescence is what pulled me in. @janets Thanks Janet. @ellimae Thanks Ellen. I think it is going to be bug year around here with the early Spring and warm weather. Not complaining, my husband works for Terminix.
@psychographer Thanks Lisa. He is pretty cool.
@swguevin Thanks Sheila. Who knew they looked quite like that?
