This about sums up my day. We were just going to work on our bathroom remodeling project today - which Tom did, but I ended up making potato salad, deviled eggs and mandarin orange. Andy, Gina and the boys came over and brought the rest of the picnic and we had a great time. We ended up outside on another 95 or so degree day with sidewalk chalk on the driveway and blowing bubbles until dark. I have never seen two little boys happier with a cheaper toy. These two appreciate everything and can make a good time so easily. Gina was the champion bubble blower here with what seems like the entire neighborhood reflected in a five way bubble.
I hope that all of those in this country had a good holiday. My son brought tears to my eyes tonight as he tried to explain to these two little boys just who we were honoring today - who gave us the the freedom to blow bubbles on a summer evening.
Sounds like a beautiful day spent with people you love. Perfect. And yes, the shot is a fav for me!! I'm a sucker for bubbles and this one with the reflection is terrific!!
@yonnie Thank you Yvonne. One of our last minute ideas and we had a lot of fun. @sugarmuser Thank you Sharon. Poor Gina almost passed out blowing bubbles so I could get a good one. @grannysue Thank you Linda. @pawar_ramesh Thanks Ramesh. I worked hard to get that. @wannabe Wow Catherine. Thanks so much for the fav. @marlboromaam Thank you Maggie. We had fun and it was a scorcher around here. Way too warm for the end of May. @maggiemae Thank you Maggie. Little guys are so much fun. @vickisfotos Vicki I think funness absolutely is a word if we want it to be - and thank you for the fav. @buttercup Thanks Mary. I got one a few weeks ago accidentally but this one I really worked to get. @frida Thanks Frida. A cheap way to keep all of us laughing. @jesperani Thanks Jennifer. @kamb Exactly Karen. We had from 4 - 61 blowing bubbles and having a great time. @gerry Thank you Gerry. Much appreciated. @psychographer Thank you Lisa. @lwain Thanks Lindy. @peadar Thank you Peter. @filsie65 Thanks Phil. I am still smiling. @myautofocuslife Thank you Livia.
@granny7 Thanks Linda. It wasn't easy. I don't know how many I deleted. @sangwann Dione you just said it all. We could have worked on something yesterday but instead we worked on memories. I'll take that most any day. @chauncygirl Thank you for the fav Heidi. I appreciate it. @cbawernsen Thanks Corine. Kids + bubbles = shot @bleakhounds Thank you. @carolmw Thanks Carol.
Love the reflection in the bubbles. A great metaphor too - bubbles some how sum up the freedoms we are lucky enough to take for granted (and how fragile they really are).
A wonderful family day you have just spent with your own loved ones & what better way than that to remember other families missing loved ones. I like that your son is teaching his boys that some have given their lives for others. Cool reflection in that bubble Cathy !
@cindymc Cindy thanks so much. I am a sucker for bubbles also. @humphreyhippo I didn't really catch that until you pointed it out but our freedom really is that fragile. Thank you. @janets It was a fun day. Thanks. @steeler Thank you Howard. @happypat Thanks Pat. We are trying to teach them that Memorial Day is not just a day off.
And thank you for sharing your feelings about your son sharing with his boys about the meaning of this special day.
