I'm home. I don't know how we did it - but my son Michael, DIL Michele and my grandson Garrett and I picked out a house in Fishers, Indiana. Fishers is a little town about 30 minutes north of Indy with a wonderful school system for my Kindergartener to be. You can see the school from the backyard. And a pool and playground is at the bottom of their street. I have a better picture of the house that I will put in my other album but this is where the sign was and the realtor had them put up their own SOLD sign. There was supposed to be time for fun this trip but it was all business. Garrett and I managed to pick out "star rooms" (he is into astronomy) in every house around while his Mom & Dad looked at other parts of the houses. We looked at older and newer construction, but the architect decided he wanted a new one.
It is all just beginning to sink in - these folks that I love so much will be about 3 hours away from me....
A beautiful candid capture, Cathy ... that was one "whirlwind" trip for all of you. So happy that they found this lovely home and everything that they need will be nearby! AND three hours isn't so bad ... it could have been alot further! I hope that you'll be able to see one another frequently. Garrett will be so anxious to tell you about the "star rooms!"
Great that you could be a part of the house hunting process. My mom has done that with me a couple of times. Nothing like a little input from your mama:). Sorry to hear that your son is moving, but I am glad that it is a pretty easy road trip away.
I love this shot. What a wonderful moment to capture!!! Three hours really isn't very far. And Garrett will have so much to tell you EVERY TIME HE SEES YOU.
Three hours isn't far - my grandkids live an ocean away from me. I don't get to see them very often, but when I do, it's very special. I often envy folks who can see family members whenever they want, but there are aspects to some distance that makes every gettogether more important.
Oh, three hours is not that much after all! We live 5 hours away from my & hubby's parents. We call each other every day and kids like to talk with grandparents over Skype. And when we go visit, we just stay longer than usual - at least 2 days at a time. Then the driving time doesn't feel that bad.
