It is November 5th - Election Day if you live in the US. I just got back from voting. We might all be very unhappy with the way things are going in this country - but, short of another revolution - this is the only way that we the people can effect change. I hate the way that people from both parties descend on you as you try to enter the poling place. I told them the same thing that I tell them every year. If I don't already know what I am going to vote for I don't deserve the right that folks have died to protect. We are a free society, so maybe we are getting what we deserve. When a huge % of eligible voters never even bother to vote what do we expect. When parties are so caught up in voting the "party" line all we have is gridlock. And why do they call them "parties?" There is nothing very fun going on here. Well, that is my rant for the day. If you still need to vote - go out there and do it. If you need to get registered to vote next time around - go to that. My generation thought it could change the world peacefully. I think we succeeded in some ways, and I for one still think that we can if we work together.
A beautiful capture ,and super rich colour this is lovely Cathy . And I am glad you have had the opportunity to get your thoughts on the election off your chest !!
Goodness, I'd have thought it would be too late to swoop on people arriving to vote, but I guess it must sway some opinions or they wouldn't do it. Beautiful shot. The colour and pattern are fabulous
I got "swooped on" outside the polling place. Didn't like it, but what can I do.
On a completely different subject, this is gorgeous! I really like the pattern of the petals, from the center outward. And the color, so bright and cheerful on a grey and rainy day!
Beautiful color and lighting. Yeah I hate the bombardment of robo calls and no one stands for anything any more. They just tear down the other guy. I think I'm ready for revolution. Throw all the bums out!
