It has been a day of highs and lows. Thanks to Elke Hochban I participate in the "Chrysta Rae Photography Scavenger Hunt" on Google+ It is billed as the most fun you can have with your camera - and it is. One of the words was TRICK. Below is the explanation I posted with my entry. I won 1st Place from judge Chrysta Rae herself for this word.
And, we had our last worship service at 4400 Floral Ave. Norwood Presbyterian Church is really in the season of Advent. The season of waiting. Our building is sold and now we have to finalize our lease on our new building and get the city to do their thing with building usage. Not a dry eye this morning......
My Husbands Hands -
I will be forever grateful for the word trick. These are the hands that I have loved for over 32 years. I first saw them pulling a quarter from my then five year old's ear. When that five year old was nine I married the "Magic Man." He doesn't practice the skills of legerdemain very much anymore, although he has a huge library of magic books and he occasionally tricks the grands. I still marvel that I am totally in love with this guy after all these years. I am so glad that we spent this one evening laughing hysterically while I worked on getting just the shot that I wanted.
We actually set this up on the ironing board covered in black felt and Tom had on a black shirt. What fun. I'm framing this one!
Congratulations on the 1st place prize! How fun to have that talent to play with and photograph. This shot deserved the applause- it's a winner all the way around!
I'm so thrilled that you won, Cathy! I haven't been able to comment this round - hope Google fixes this issue, but I loved this shot the minute I saw it. Having the giggles while shooting - it's the best, isn't it? And hubbies who go along with all our ideas - ditto! Hope you stick with the scavenger game, my friend - you're damn good!
A fave for me Vicki....your words of love for Tom are incredibly moving....you are so lucky ....love & contentment is everything in life.
A great way to set up this shot & it works so well!
So sorry you are having to leave your beloved church after all these years ...will be very strange in a new building but you never know how His way works.
Our priest is retiring in early January & we are having to share so there will be no Sunday morning service, only Saturday evening...the beginning of the down wood slide unless the Bishop can find someone else. Times they are a changing!!
