I grew up, and still live, in Norwood, Ohio. Frisch's has been a constant presence, just not in the same place. I loved seeing the "Big Boy" at the sign museum. We had our own little Frisch's in Norwood that would pretty much sit where I-71 is today. You had to go under a tunnel to find it. I had many a fish sandwich with extra tarter sauce from there. We had one on the Pike (main street USA), where a convenience store is now and then the current one went in on Montgomery Rd. I have had their fish and diet vanilla cokes during Grandma Braden's last years. It's funny how life twists back and forth, or at least mine has. I have been so blessed to be able to go back and mend old fences - ones that I never thought I'd even want to mend. Funny how many places this "Big Boy" has taken my thoughts this morning. I do miss my ex MIL, a lot. She became the "old lady" in my life after my mother died. I hadn't really had much contact with her after my boys were grown. When my ex husband had a massive heart attack and stroke on the same day and ended up with a 5 way bypass I was there for my sons. I became David's doctor person as one son was in school and the other worked full time. Life really does twist in funny ways, and I am married to a saint that totally understood what might have been an awkward situation.
A terrific photo of your Big Boy and the other signs as well. I remember when you had that emergency and how traumatic it was for you to go through it with your boys. I also remember what a saint your husband was
There was a Big Boy near where I went to college- I think it was in Wheeling. One fellow that I dated went there often- so I did too! Burgers and fries, and a chocolate shake. yum yum And so true about the twists and turns life brings our way. Good shot!
You are certainly right Cathy that life does deliver some strange and difficult twists and turns. This photo sums that all up for you and how you came through it.
