Breast Cancer Awareness Month by cdonohoue

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We took my favorite niece out to dinner for her birthday. I loved that my favorite restaurant was all decked out.

I've been blessed. I haven't had breast cancer, but I have known a few young women that have died from it and others that beat it. I have had cervical cancer many years ago. At the time it was devastating. I had worked as a medical assistant to the man that called me one morning. I knew that the only direct phone call he made was when the diagnosis from a biopsy cancer. I had a tough time holding myself together. I was immediately scheduled for a hysterectomy. The day could not come soon enough. My Dad stayed with my boys until they went to school and Tom and my Mother took me to the hospital. The doctor had told me that if I woke up and hurt like hell I'd know he was able to do the surgery. If the on the table biopsy came back that it had spread it would have been an entirely different outcome. Anyway, I know how you feel when you get that phone call. Have your mammogram!! Have your pap smear. These are mostly curable if caught early. Do it for yourself and all of those that love you.
What a heartfelt testimonial!

I love that this restaurant has found a way to combine the two events of this month in such a fun way! Terrific photo of it.
