I watched a very interesting video by Alan Shapiro, one of my idols of macro flower photography yesterday. He is selling a bellows system of some sort that can get you closer and closer. I shot this in natural light through my kitchen window. I bought the primrose last week to bring some color inside in January. I learned that older hands that shake and heavyish equipment are no giving me the shot that I want. I have a small fortune invested in my Sony mirrorless and lenses. I need to find something that weighs less, and always think I am cheating when I use my phone. I think I need to rethink that.
What a lovely and delightful capture!

Awesome capture and detail Cathy! I have the same problem with old shaking hands.

I bought a railing to put my camera on for indoor shots, but have not had the time to try it yet ;-)

Most impressive capture. I am terrible at macro shots to start with and feel there is no piece of equipment that would make me any better. Fantastic DOF in this one Cathy

This is so soft and has lovely detail. I very much like how my eye goes to the detail and then lands softly in the blur. Well done. I have to use my mini tripod more and more too.

Just a thought, if you are looking for a small, light, fabulous camera: I recently bought a Sony RX100M6. I love Sony and have an a6000 but this new camera is amazing.

A beautiful close-up and lovely dof! Fav! I've been reading the comments about old shaky hands. Some information here that is good to know. Thank you for raising the topic, Cathy.
