September 11

I had not read about this in the paper ahead of time as Cheryl did, so when we drove across the bridge downtown today, I did a double-take and pulled over immediately to reach for my camera. It's just not every day that you see bras strung along both sides of the road as far as the eye can see! Now I know that it was part of a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society, and also coincided with the "Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure®." I hope it was as successful as it was traffic-stopping!

HAHA! GREAT SHOT!

Fantastic idea! NZ had a bra fence which began in 1999 with 4 bras it grew and was mysteriously cleared...grew again and was cleared again...but again multiplied and by 2006 there were more than 800 and it was an international tourist attraction. The farmer by then had grown attached to his line of bras...the council, however, had not and ordered it to be taken down in the interests of road safety. This prompted an attempt to make the world's longest bra chain, at an annual festival in Wanaka in September of that year. The chain reached 7400 bras, over 100000 short of the world record, but raised over $10 000 for The Breast Cancer Research Trust. I wonder where else they have done this?
You can also buy tea cups in sizes AA, B,C and DD for Breast Cancer Research in NZ.

This is just wonderful! I am chairing our team at work and it has been a blessing for me. But seeing this picture made my mind put bras all over our lobby! What a vision that was! So funny - we are a very conservative defense contractor. It would never work!
