Shape/Form, Lines, Texture, Pattern, and/or Light- Day 23
I am participating in the "Flash of Red" challenge- Black and white photography for the month of February with a flash of red on February 14. The theme for the week is based on the use of shape/form, line, texture, pattern, and/or light. My mother did only one large crocheting project in her whole life. She told me once that if she had known how much work it was before she started, she would have never done it but, being a very determined woman, she stuck with the task and completed the afghan. The only crocheting projects she attempted after that was crocheting borders around handkerchiefs. The afghan is reversible. The flowers are 3-demensional on both sides. My mother passed away in 1988, and I now own this special afghan. (An added fact- a few years ago some old family photos were passed on to me. In going through them, I found a black-and-white photo of my mother sitting in a chair and working on this afghan. It's so special to have the photo, along with her handiwork.)
This is a real treasure! I had seen my great grandmother work one and that was some job! Been passed down to me and I still have it put up. Will have to search it out and be sure my daughter knows about it.
