Shy pearls by cherrymartina

Shy pearls

Lily of the valley, another name of the flower I never knew english name. I must say I like it! And I love the flower... I have a lot of them in my back yard, and I think that it is the only flower left after my mother in law passed away. We had a lot of reconstructions on the house after that, and the back yard was totaly devastated, lot of plants died, but those litle misses have survived. Every year I am looking forward for them to come out. And they just started to bloom... I hardly reached this one, it is deep in the shade, and we are having another very windy day (which is actually not at least typical for Zagreb) so those little pearls were very playful. I am not happy with a result, but I guess I will have more opportunities in the next week or two... My garden is getting serious, lot of things going on, so I will probably spend even more time shotting flowers, hopefully I'll get better...
That is beautiful Martina, I love Lily of the Valley - my mum had them in her wedding bouquet - but have never been able to grow them in my garden.

Thank you Anna, They grow almost like weed, once you have them can't get rid of them, but they are very pretty so I don't mind

I love the dof in this, and the way the leaves frame the little buds. Fav for me.

They smell so wonderful. When I was young, there was a cologne I would wear called Muguet de bois. Smelled just like them. Nice close up.

Love lily of the valley -grow wild in our garden. My husband thinks they're invasive (which they are!) and digs them up but it's my favourite floral so we battle over them! Have just got a few in a corner now. Love your DoF, your composition and the subtle colours. Fav

@dorsethelen, Oh yes Helen, I know what you are talking about. Every yera in a summer I freak out and decide I am getting rid of them, but I can't for a same reason as you. I am especially frustrated when I want to plant something new and I cant dig through them...

Lovely shot, reminds me of my mum's garden, she has lots of these growing in a shady spot. Beautiful flower and scent.

I love them too as they are my birth flower- and I'm glad they're spreading in my garden as not too much likes to grow there! I think you did a nice job with this shot- it's not the typical kind which is why I think it's good!
