Nursery

When we go out with kayak we always discover some new sights and get interesting perspectives. And I always miss my canon- I can't bring it with me on the water- so I use my daughter's waterproof compact. This time I liked blue color in this scene...

What you see here is mussel's nursery.
This is very close to shore, which is extremely steep here. They grow mussels on anchored ropes or rope nets that go very deep, and they pick them up as needed when costumers come to buy them.
They grow naturally in these waters- they need sea water that is not very salty, that is mixed with fresh water, and since there is a river near by, and lot of underwater streams coming down the mountain, they have perfect environment here...
And everybody is happy, people get to earn something, others can buy first quality product and eat well, fishes are growing happy, fishermen as well, and at the end seagulls get their share...
A lovely seascape

You could have made up any kind of story and I would have believed it from this photo... the scene has a slightly unreal feel to it for me.

The colors are beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for the info on mussels. They are one of my favorite seafoods.
