Sing for Joy

It had been raining all day today and finally cleared late this afternoon, so we went outside to take some photos near where we were staying in the motorhome.

@nzkites has been doing lots of bird photography recently, so as the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! I also have started to observe and photograph birds a lot more.

I heard birdsong and followed the sound until I spotted this blackbird in the top of a willow tree. The image has been heavily cropped so I was pleased to see how sharp it was.
Very nice capture!

I really like how the twig frames the bird.

You must have an excellent camera to be able to crop and still have the fine focus! fav

Such an interesting image. The bird is sharp and well placed and the unusual shape of the bush/tree it is sitting on provides an intriguing frame. Well spotted.

I really like the 3D bird with the almost flat curl of the branches, as if the one curved about him is a shelter.

Fantastic composition! I love the bird in all that curly wood, so nice!

I like that you've caught the bird in 'action' with it seeming to be reaching out for something or maybe chatting with someone off-scene.

Love the composition and framing of the blackbird.

@casablanca We’re fine thanks, just put the project on hold for the moment, as we’ve been busy travelling around the South Island. Sorry for the delay answering your comment, hope you and yours are all well too.

@chikadnz No worries at all, just checking in on you and letting you know you are thought of. Hope you are having a lovely trip around the South Island. I have to say, it was my favourite part of NZ!
