This is a Bob-omb, an enemy from the Super Mario Bros. series. In the video games, they explode upon being irritated or they’ll chase after Mario upon seeing him, exploding in a few seconds. Wild and crazy little guys!
It was interesting working with the color black and I liked the results. It surprised me that a black subject and background could actually work well together...at least in this case. Plus making the shot black and white kind of gave it a ‘classic black and white cartoon’ feel.
@alia_801 - Thank you so much! I really didn't think this was gonna work either. Just tried it anyway and turned out that my background was lighter then his body. Got a result I least expected.
