On my Mario shot the other day, @julie's son said I should try taking a shot of Luigi for green day and I thought that was a great idea! So here's Mario's younger (yet taller) sibling.
Luigi was created because Mario's creator wanted to make his new Mario Bros. game a two-player experience. So they created a character that had the same shape and size as Mario but a different color...and guess which color they chose. Yep, green! Till this day, Luigi sports his classic green color. Over time, Luigi has developed his own look and personality (he's thinner, more timid, and gets less attention than Mario). Yet, he still has his fans. In fact, Nintendo made most of 2013 the "Year of Luigi" and gave the little bro some extra love in the video games. L:-})
Great shot, Chris! My son and I like your picture very much. Actually, Luigi is my son's favorite. He often likes the sidekicks better than the main character which I think is interesting. (He likes Ferb better than Phineas) He tells me that Luigi was actually pink in one of the earlier games called Wrecking Crew and didn't have a name at first either. We are glad they made him green now!
@julie - Thank so much Julie and Clayton! It's was a really fun shot to create! Many of the sidekicks can have fun personalities, which is why I really like Luigi, and Yoshi too. I didn't know that fact about Wrecking Crew but I'm so happy they made Luigi green too! And absolutely love the shot Clayton set up, very creative idea!
