The color I photograph on Saturday this month has been blue and when I think of this color I think of the sky and water. Already showcased the sky enough with light blue so decided to go with a water drop shot today, using tungsten light white balance to give that blue color. Didn't expect this result though! I've done water drop shots a few month ago and made notes on what I did. Hence I used the same setup and settings (although I set my flash to High Speed Sync this time). Just so happened to catch the water splashing in a twisting motion, while the inside pattern looks like a cool piece of the galaxy. :D
@boxplayer - Truly appreciate all the awesome remarks you left! Thanks. Most of my backgrounds have been different props I've used. For example, for the Wormy Apple and the Lollipop falling into orange soda, I used one of my shirts. For Super Mario and the Purple Lavender I used lids that cover a storage box. For all of my yellow shots, I used either colored paper or cardboard. Some backgrounds have been nature, such as the bokeh created by trees in my Clover shot. The purple earrings was really the only shot I had to process in order to get the purple background.
@cjphoto - that's really useful info. I'm doing a colour a month thing this year and I'm not really worrying too much about creating a wholescale colour thing for each photo as long as there's a spot of the relevant colour in each pic. But at some point, maybe next year, I'd like to try something where you get that whole colour wash thing.
@boxplayer - No problem. A colour month is tons of fun, especially when you plan out the photos. I started off not really paying too much attention to the background but ended up having so much fun looking for colored backgrounds that I couldn't stop. However, whether it's the whoescale colour thing or just a spot of colour it stills turns out awesome on the end month calendar. In fact, Sharyn did a whole year of color and not all of the photos had the same colored background ( http://365project.org/sewsharyn/365/2014-01-01 ). Looking forward to seeing your colour month! :)
@boxplayer - Now I see! I didn't pay close enough attention that you've been doing 12 months of colour in one of your albums! That's awesome and I know it takes commitment to devote a whole month to a particular colour. Fantastic job so far!
