My first idea for today's toy photo was not going well so thought I'd try out one of my 'backup' ideas: shooting a toy goldfish in water. It was such a hot, humid day today along with rain, which made everything all the more muggy and sticky. However, that weather did contributed to a nicely colored sky and clouds, which looked really neat and matched the color of the goldfish well. :)
This is such a winner -- funny fish looks real in this shot -- I actually did a doubletake of how you got it to look at you with the sunset in the background.
@swilde - Thank you Sue! For some reason, I've always had the hardest time getting the focus right for objects in water, but this subject was fairly easy.
@taffy - Thanks a lot Taffy! The realism of this toy surprised me a bit too. It did take me a little time to position it correctly so that it would face me.
@gigiflower - Haha so I tricked Sam for split second too. Making a toy seem real is a good accomplishment for a toy photography shot! Thanks for the comment!
Plenty of thanks for your nice comments guys! :)
