(Day 291) - A is for Aperture

Since the year's almost over, I want to do more photo techniques that I like and have yet to try...but in alphabetical order (Have to double up some days due to it being 31 days in the month)! It'll include photography basics, camera settings, composition, post-processing, etc. I'll call it the "Technique Alphabet" for simplicity. ◕‿◕

Starting with A for Aperture. When I first started out, it took me a while to understand aperture. A small number making a bigger hole in the camera and vice versa was so confusing!! But when lots of reading and practice in manual mode (partly thanks to this project), it's now the setting I adjust the most!

How about you? Do you love to play around with (A)perture or do you stick to (A)utomatic mode? ◠‿◠
I am so excied to be able to learn with your project this month! I use manual but my camera thinks about it more than I do so I still don't always have a good grasp of the concept! This is a wonderful illustration !

That's nice Chris, it really demonstrates how important aperture is.

I really love this progression Chris! What a perfect way to show the low to high... I do most of my shooting on the A setting actually, but I need to play more with higher apertures... I'm really looking forward to this month!

You put a lot of work into this presentation! Excellent examples of the difference aperture settings can have on an image.
