(Day 281) - The Old Abandoned Zoo

The rain stopped so CJ is out exploring LA again. His adventures in Griffith Park continue as he makes his way to the Old Griffith Park Zoo.

You might be wondering though, "Why is CJ standing near opened animal enclosures? Won't he get eaten?"

YES, HE WILL!! Mwhaha...Just kidding! Actually, this zoo is abandoned because it was too small. It opened in 1912 but closed in 1966 when the zoo changed locations to the spacious Los Angeles Zoo.

Curiously, everything was left in place, so you can explore the ruins of the animal enclosures. It's also a picnic area and hiking trail. CJ is still a bit nervous he'll get eaten but I'll persuade him to explore closer in the days to come. 😄🦁
If you let CJ get eaten, we won't forgive you.

@francoise - Haha I will keep that in mind! We've had some close call in the past, but I'll try to never let that happen. ;)

Well, this answers the question I asked on the next picture! It's kind of sad it can't be used for a zoo anymore but good in many other ways. A bigger zoo probably means better living quarters for the animals. Good shot CJ!
