On this beautiful early morning, CJ and I ventured to Signal Hill. This is a small city in Los Angeles situated high on a hill. Long ago, Tongva Native Americans would use the hill for signal-fires. That's how it came to be called Signal Hill.
Hilltop Park is at the top of Signal Hill and is very popular for its 360-degree views of Los Angeles. The sculpture in the center is designed to depict a signal-fire and sometimes shoots a smoke-like water mist. Other public art gives information about Los Angeles and Signal Hill's rich history as an oilfield, which it still quietly provides today!
CJ enjoyed learning all these details, watching visitors exercise & relax, and taking in the beautiful atmosphere with his photos. ๐ด๐
