CJ is now photographing the famous Queen Mary. This retired ocean liner sailed from 1936 to 1967. For the first three of those years, it was a luxury liner sailing across the North Atlantic Ocean. But when World War II broke out, luxury travel stopped and the ship was converted into a supportive troopship. After the war, the Queen Mary was refurbished and resumed her elegant cruises with 1,001 successful crossings.
However, in 1967, with advancing technology of airplanes and fancier ocean liners she was withdrawn from service. She made her final voyage to Long Beach where she was permanently docked. Now, the Queen Mary is a maritime museum and luxury hotel.
CJ is fascinated by her stature and colors. Even though she looks like a toy from here, the Queen Mary has so much successful history. 🚢😄
I want to express my appreciation for each and every one of your encouraging, thoughtful comments and taking time to view this photo and others this week. I'm busy this week and I have some catching up to do but thank you!
@gardenfolk - That's so cool!! I've been inside but haven't taken a tour yet. I really need to do that. Yes, the Long Beach airport is awesome, MUCH different than LAX.

I love the quaint and small Long Beach airport too! :)
