The state bird of Tennessee is the Mockingbird. It is known for mimicking the songs of other birds. It can also mimic the sounds of insects and amphibians. This one was very high up in a tree and I got a little dizzy trying to get his picture.
@murnane I'm trying to learn their tunes and names since I started the 365. I already knew about this little guy. When I was still teaching kindergarten, we did a unit on Tennessee and colored a picture of a mockingbird. :0)
