The mosquito that bit me, the red wasp that buzzed me, and the snakes that were surely lurking in the weeds couldn't keep me from snapping as many shots of this dragonfly as I could! LOL!
This is a female Common Whitetail. It's a skimmer dragonfly. It stayed on this stick for awhile, so I got as close as I could. I was really excited to see it, because I had missed a shot of a beautiful green dragonfly earlier in the day. :0)

You are one intrepid photographer carolyn. I would be fine with the mozzies and the wasp, but the idea of a snake at my feet would have had me snapping very quickly. This photo however, was well worth the "danger" and the itchy bites. Awesome clarity and focus.

When I take pic of strangers I always explain and ask permission to plubist it on 365 . Till now , no one refuse. Great cpture indeed and lovely composition
