This poor American Robin isn't singing. He's panting. The hot weather is so hard on the wildlife. I saw many birds looking like this today. My Mom had containers of water around her yard for the birds. This birdbath is older and doesn't hold a lot of water. She refilled it twice, while I was visiting.
I hope you get some rain and relief from the heat soon! It is funny, the children are on school holidays here and it has been raining solidly for a couple of days with nothing but rain forecast for the rest of the week!! Love the textures and tones in this shot too!
My Wife and I noticed the exact thing today as we sat out on the porch and watched the sparrows visit the bird bath. They were all panting. At one point we emptied our ice bucket into the bird bath. They loved it.
The heat has been crazy everywhere. We've cooled down to 30C (86F) but by Wednesday going back up to 33C (91F) but feeling like 41C (105F) with humidity. Ick!
