This was the first time I've seen a White-breasted Nuthatch at one of my feeders. I've seen them at my Mom's, but not here. He was a busy little bird and fast, very very fast! :0)

Instant fav. I took a few pics of one this weekend...from my bathroom window. here, I see them crawling DOWN trees...headfirst...they are so odd. I love their solid blocks of gray and black and white, but my friend says they chew up something around her house so she hates Nuthatches...
Great shot of this very smart looking little bird. You have such a wonderful range of birds visiting your yard if we put seed out all we end up with is sparrows but the water dishes attract a range of birds.

He's in such a perfect position with that neck outstretched and the legs posed just so. If there was a cirque du soleil for birds this guy would dazzle the audience.
