I posted a female Widow Skimmer back on May 27. This is a male Widow Skimmer. This guy kept flying around me today. He would land and as soon as I had him in focus, he would fly away. Twice, I walked away from him frustrated and both times he started flying close to me again. He landed on this dried stalk of grass long enough for me to finally get a decent pic.
Today was Jeff's last day of vacation. I feel bad that I was sick for most of it, but we did have fun yesterday at the Greenway. We chose to be totally lazy for his last day at home. :0)
These are such neat guys - I love to follow them. You got a really good shot on this one - Around here he'll keep coming back to the same twig so I just stay focused there and wait - and sometimes wait. Yours doesn't even look very damaged by the long hot summer. Some I've seen are getting pretty ragged. Glad you're feeling better!
Glad he finally posed for you....wonderful capture. Time flies by so fast during visits. Too bad you were having problems, but glad you're feeling better now.
Hope all is well x
