This is the actual name of the grasshopper. It's also called a Handsome Grasshopper. I've been seeing them for a couple of days, but couldn't get a decent pic. This one is a male. I've seen the females, but didn't know they were the same kind. They're green and brown.

Interesting! We had a striking brown and white grasshopper on the playground, but of course my camera was inside the school. Not sure if it was the same. Enjoy your girls night out!

Admirable indeed. . .he is grand. I have to admit I'm not fond of them. . .I usually run in the other direction - there's always the worry that they'll jump right AT me!
