It was a lovely Sunday. I visited my Mom and she cooked a delicious meal for me. You never get to old to be spoiled by your mother. :0)
I haven't taken pics at her house in a couple of weeks. The old hayfield was a butterfly haven. It was covered with wildflowers. There were lots of different kinds of butterflies It was wonderful!
I did take a garden hoe with me. It's one of the places I've seen snakes. I didn't see any today, but it did bring back some childhood memories. The field belonged to grandparents when I was growing up My Granny was notorious for chasing snakes from her hen house with a garden hoe. Now all these years later, I'm carrying the hoe around. :0)
This is a Gulf Fritillary on a White Snakeroot plant.
Thank you for your kind comments on yesterday's caterpillar! :0)
I did not recognize this Wings Open from behind..used to seeing them wings closed and from the front or side. They are so pretty. I wish I could see you with the hoe, your camera, stomping through fields to get these gorgeous shots!
Really pretty - seeing more of these in a more frenzied pattern these days - must be getting ready to leave - You did a super job getting this one with the wings open - love it against white - the best though as someone mentioned is you in the field with the camera and the hoe. I loved it! (Smart thinking!)
