End of season

The weather here has turned much colder this weekend. I did see a few butterflies this afternoon, when the sun came out for a little while. I don't think this Buckeye chrysalis will be hatching. It's hanging on ironweed that's gone to seed. Ironweed is the purple wildflower that I took so many butterfly pics on this past summer.

Thank you for the lovely comments on Emma's pic yesterday! She was wearing her Halloween costume for our family party. It's always a fantastic day, when I can spend it with family! :0)

Carolyn, you never cease to amaze me. . . I feel as though you've really opened my eyes to the whole world of butterflies but I have never seen anything like this! I'm glad I did get my one series of shots of the Cabbage White emerging.

Hi Carole, saw this image on the popular page and then read what you wrote when you first started the project. I'm an ex-teacher like you, retired very early due to health issues, but rebuilt my lfe and photography is one of my biggest pleasures now. Love the support and interaction and inspiration of the 365 community.
