The Tufted Titmouse is a slate gray bird with just a hint of rust color on its flanks.
A breeding pair of Tufted Titmice will maintain their bond throughout the year. The titmouse family bond is so strong that the young from one breeding season will often stay with their parents long enough to help with the nesting and feeding duties the following year. :0)
It was a gray day. We had storms last night. I was up until 6:00 am. I'm running on a two and a half hours sleep. The worst storms missed us and the kids. :0)
Beautiful color and textures ....how did you ever manage to find the energy to get out and capture this Carolyn. It's a beauty ...hope that you get some rest tonight.
Wonderful shot! How do you get them to stay in one place long enough to get such amazing detail. By the time mine lands and I find him, he's gone again. Just fascinated by the wonderful color and detail you get with him.
Lovely capture. Thank you for the background information. That explains the group of titmouse I see in the tree by the bird feeder. I am having difficulty getting good shots of the titmouse because they are very shy (of humans).
