I waded into grass as tall as me to get this pic. Three years ago, I would NEVER have done that! 365 has helped me be brave. I may pay for it later. I was halfway in and remembered I didn't use my insect repellent. :0)
Thank you so much for your views, comments, and faves! They keep me going outside in the heat, humidity, and tall grasses. :0)
Very nice! Did you use a tripod? From the exif it appears that you used a zoom (as opposed to a macro)? My zooms of bugs never come out this good. Fav!
@vskolnik Thank you! I only use my tripod for moon pics. Most of the places I shoot, it just wouldn't work. I did use my 300mm zoom for this pic. I don't have a macro lens. I do use my P&S on macro setting for the lynx spiders. :0)
This is just fabulous - those colors show so well. He is in such better shape than the poor ones I have been seeing lately - definitely "parts missing" bunch. I am always in awe of your wonderful detail.
Beautiful capture! A fav. I forget bug spray too when I shoot nature shots. I do look for snakes now after running into one that I later found out was a poisonous snake.
@daisy Oh! No! I've never come across a venomous snake!!! People have seen rattlesnakes a mile from me, but I've never seen or heard one. I don't know what I would do. Be careful!!!!
