Unlikely pair by cjwhite

Unlikely pair

It was cold and windy today. We even had a few snowflakes late this afternoon. I saw more birds than usual. I saw three Reds( Northern Cardinals) in the same tree. They weren't getting along very well, but it was fun to see them together. I saw Woody(Red-bellied Woodpecker) briefly. He was at the feeder with Red, but my camera was in the house.

I was surprised the female Cardinal didn't fly away, when the Blue Jay landed behind her. She looks like she's giving him the cold shoulder. :0)

Thank you for visiting my project! A big welcome to the new 365 friends that are starting their projects. I am also excited to see some of my old 365 friends returning!!! :0)

Beautiful capture and two lovely birds! FAV for me!

Love this shot...especially the Blue Jay with the seed in his mouth! I remember years back we had a snowstorm and I had ten cardinals on my deck railing all at one time. It was such a beautiful sight!

@espyetta It was nasty here, too. I had to go inside, when I couldn't feel my fingers anymore. :0)

I totally tried to catch some birds in a tree this evening....it was also a cardinal and a blue jay.... I scared the cardinal off then the blue jay. I was so sad!!

Fav! Quite a capture! I have both breeds coming to my feeder. The Blue jay is so very fast. I haven't been able to get a good clear shot of him. You did very well!

Excuse the pun, birds of a feather stick together or do they need to be the related?

What a wonderful nature shot. You don't often get these 2 together and you have even caught the jay with a seed in his beak. Great timing.
