Caution ! by cocobella

Caution !

We have visited the “vallée de mai” a huge natural parc (registered at the patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO).
That’s where you can see, between other species, the endemic palm tree called the “coco de mer” (sea coco) famous and emblematic of Seychelles, the seed given by this giant palmtree is called in créole and French the “coco-fesse” (=bottom-coco) because as you can see the coconut has the same shape !
It is the largest seed in the world. It’s very heavy.
There is nothing to eat inside it is only filled with seeds.
If you want to bring back home one of this coco-fesse you will have to pay around 300-500 € ( it depends on the size) but they empty it before just in order to be the only island where this type of palm tree grows !
We didn't have any caution signs in Fiji but I was constantly looking up to make sure there were no falling coconuts.

@nicolecampbell In hotels they use to pick them up before they fall, but i can't avoid myself of not standing below just in case !
In this natural parc they let the nature do so they just clean a bit the alleyways for the walkers but they don't touch anything... so the coconuts falls naturally from time to time ;)

This reminds me of a scene in Castaway with Tom Hanks
