What an interesting house. So many stories. For some reason it reminds me of the house in the book All the Light We Cannot See. Wow, I just looked the book up and some of it takes place in Saint-Malo, so maybe it's the house. I just looked into it a bit more, and he had been there and mentioned all the old houses he saw while there. Who knows, this could be it. How cool!
@randystreat that’s a story and a coincidence you just read a book about it !
So you made me look at my photo twice : I can tell you this house is not in Saint Malo but in Dinard (which is only 11km away)... , I also have the exact address if you want to play the detective : 4, rue Roger Vercel, 35800 Dinard. And the beach facing the sea is called “plage Saint Énogat” !
And I just notice that the house is called “ROZ-AVEL” ( some like to baptize their home)
That is all I can tell you about that house but I’ve got a lot of other photos of houses from Saint Malo, all beautiful old building and architecture.
@cocobella I might have to look into this a little more. Given that the book is fiction, perhaps there was no one house but a compliation of all the author saw while visiting St Malo.
