Headstone Graveyard

Our region was the largest producer of marble and many companies still work with marble.
Less than a quarter of a mile from our house a pile of discarded marble headstones in the carver's yard.

Oh how sad- I hope these were mistakes and not people who ordered a headstone for someone they loved and then were unable to pay!

What a sad state of affairs for the stone mason. I wonder if he'd give them away.

Nothing last for ever. Even a grave.
An Dutch artist have use those removed stones to paving a path trough a park.

@marlboromaam As Pyrrhula wrote, these stones would be great as a path. Apparently nobody wants them, they are in a field open to everybody. It is true that in the region marble is everywhere. We even have multiple blocs of marble by our garage and we used some as steps.

@thewatersphotos They contain mistakes and the customers rejected them. Therefore they cannot be used and they just sit in the field.
