No Laughing Necessary

This is my first attempt to work with layers in Photoshop. I was so proud of me until I saw the final result. Oh my, this is so bad. Well I submitted it for the 52Frames theme of "Strangers". Strangers in the night, la la la
we all start somewhere , I don't do fancy edits , that includes using layers !!!!

It takes courage to learn new things.

Looks pretty good to me! I couldn't do this.

Every try is worth a positive critics. Practis makes master pieces.
January 28th, 2023
It's all going to start somewhere! Keep practicing and you'll be a pro! The people are very well separated from whatever photo they used to be in - that takes a ton of work in my experience.
January 28th, 2023
LOL! They are walking on air. That is always the hardest part I think
January 29th, 2023
Well, that's not bad for a first attempt. You'll eventually figure out how to make the different light sources and color levels balance out so that it looks like one shot. Good try!
January 29th, 2023
Haha funny but good on ya for trying.
January 29th, 2023
Walking on air - love it as we all learn and improve
January 29th, 2023
Well,love it❤️⭐️👌

It’s on my list to “learn layers” this year…I applaud your efforts!
January 29th, 2023
It's way better than I could do. Great first attempt!!

Very creative composite. The more you work with layers the easier they will be. Adding shadows will 'ground' the people. There are numerous easy tutorials available explaining how to add shadows.
January 29th, 2023
Well done Corinne, quite tricky to get it 100% the first time.
January 29th, 2023
Pretty good first attempt. The trick on a composite like this is getting the light to match. Keep at it, you'll get it if you keep trying.
January 29th, 2023
Pretty cool for the first attempt, I have no idea how to do it.
January 29th, 2023
Feeling cold! Serves them right for not wearing woolens. Great candid and light.
January 29th, 2023
"Strangers in the night" - not sure if you want to run into these guys :)
January 29th, 2023
It is a great first attempt at compositing, great job!
January 29th, 2023
@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil. This is not my favorite activity but I would love to know how to use Photoshop for composite of the sky (Moon phases for example).
January 29th, 2023
@joysabin Thanks. I'll need a lot of it :-)
January 29th, 2023
@marlboromaam Thanks Mags. You do so beautiful things with Photoshop!
January 29th, 2023
@pyrrhula Thank you!
January 29th, 2023
@kuva Thanks Megan. Yes their colors, lighting, etc. are obviously not consistant with the background :-)
January 29th, 2023
I think it is cool looking.
January 29th, 2023
@jgpittenger Thanks Jane. They look totally dropped there :-)
January 29th, 2023
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann. I'm not sure I'll have the determination, we'll see
January 29th, 2023
@tinley23 Thanks Lesley
January 29th, 2023
@365projectorgchristine Thanks Christine! Photoshop is really amazing but it also requires a lot of skills
January 29th, 2023
@joemuli Thanks Joe, you're too kind
January 29th, 2023
@amyk Thanks Amy. I just scratched the first "layer"
January 29th, 2023
@kwind Thank you!
January 29th, 2023
@salza Thanks Sally, I'll have to watch more tutorials and start with something easier.
January 29th, 2023
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana
January 29th, 2023
@cdcook48 Thanks Chris, I have a long road of learning in front of me.
January 29th, 2023
@yaorenliu Thanks Yao
January 29th, 2023
@sangwann Thanks Dione
January 29th, 2023
@pdulis Thanks Peter. They seemed "innocent" to me when they were walking toward the supermarket.
January 29th, 2023
@swchappell Thanks Steve
January 29th, 2023
@mittens Thanks Marilyn!
January 29th, 2023
I don't think it matters if the first one's not perfect - if you want to improve then you can!!
January 29th, 2023
Well I wouldn’t know where to start. So well done.
January 29th, 2023
@anniesue Thanks Annie-Sue. I certainly had fun trying!
January 29th, 2023
@carole_sandford Thanks Carole, I just followed a Youtube tutorial :-)
January 29th, 2023
You did well for a first. I often don't like to do these composites because I have a hard time getting the lighting correct. I suspect a second try would have you working on this a bit.
January 29th, 2023
@randystreat Thanks Kathy. I managed to do the easy steps. I watched how to match the horizon lines to both layers and how to make the lighting consistent but that was too much to digest in one seating!
January 29th, 2023
@corinnec I certainly understand . I'm not there either.
January 30th, 2023
Well done. The hardest first step.
January 30th, 2023
I think it turned out fine. Great effort.
