This is my first attempt to work with layers in Photoshop. I was so proud of me until I saw the final result. Oh my, this is so bad. Well I submitted it for the 52Frames theme of "Strangers". Strangers in the night, la la la
It's all going to start somewhere! Keep practicing and you'll be a pro! The people are very well separated from whatever photo they used to be in - that takes a ton of work in my experience.
Well, that's not bad for a first attempt. You'll eventually figure out how to make the different light sources and color levels balance out so that it looks like one shot. Good try!
Very creative composite. The more you work with layers the easier they will be. Adding shadows will 'ground' the people. There are numerous easy tutorials available explaining how to add shadows.
@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil. This is not my favorite activity but I would love to know how to use Photoshop for composite of the sky (Moon phases for example).
You did well for a first. I often don't like to do these composites because I have a hard time getting the lighting correct. I suspect a second try would have you working on this a bit.
@randystreat Thanks Kathy. I managed to do the easy steps. I watched how to match the horizon lines to both layers and how to make the lighting consistent but that was too much to digest in one seating!
