Not a fire

We have an oil refinery on the doorstep. Last night, they set off the elevated flare and with the low cloud cover, it looked like Armageddon. (Kind of a metaphor for how I felt yesterday anyway).

I have some clearer shots, but I liked this one better - a happy accident when the tripod slipped a little under the weight of the 300mm.....
