Thanks for your kind comments - this is taken in the wetlands / mangrove area near our home. ...and Ellen, I forget sometimes that not everyone is a geek like me! Fauna means animals ..... I have a PhD in botany (really in ecology, or more specifically, ecophysiology) and so I tend to say 'flora and fauna' instead of 'plants and animals'
@corymbia Oh you would surly love it here ! so much flora and fauna around i just stand here and take shots of it all day! Then i have to narrow it down to just one!!!! Do you have any idea how many SD cards i have used in the last year!! i am ashamed to say! But i cannot download them to my computer! i tried that and the whole computer crashed!! lol...well now i have my own little system ..going on with an external hard drive, but after all the time i spend on here, i never get to putting all the photo's i like on it! :) Thank you for the explanation! i will try and remember it as i love new words, as long as i can remember how to spell them...i have already forgotten how to spell the old words!! lol :)
Beautiful composition! I've only ever seen one Kingfisher and that was when I was a child. It was a special moment and I still remember where it was, but in spite of visiting the same place many, many times since then, I've never seen another.
WOW I think I caught a blue flash of a kingfisher once at a nature reserve (in a hide) but I can't imagine seeing one so clearly and getting such a great shot !
