Across the moor today was so pretty with fleeting clouds, sunshine and heather for miles. This lone tree is stood in a sea of purple, this year has been the best in a longtime for the heathland. All the burnt areas have grown in and started flowering.
The farmers manage the heather for the grouse, they burn off vast areas that are past their best and these take a year or two to grow back. Heathland has changed a lot since I was a girl.

Sigh.......such beauty! I wish I could get up to Yorkshire again before Autumn, but I shall have to save this sight for next year now. Awaiting results for teenager's GCSE's this week and all hands to the pump to work out what follows with 6th Form beginning only a few days later at the end of August. But in the meantime, I shall utterly savour your delicious images to the last!
