these old quince trees bear fruit every year but eventually they will be removed to make way for the planting of native trees and grasses along the creek as part of its restoration. They are remnants of the farming properties that were in this area many years ago
We used to have two quince trees in our garden in Melbourne. I love quince paste especially on camembert and crackers.

@koalagardens its really amazing what they have been doing over the last couple of years. Some of the old timers around here didnt like to see all the old plums, quinces and pomegranate trees going but now the native vegetation is taking off its looking wonderful and encouraging. The Council has contracted some very knowledgeable people to do the work around our local creeks.
