Old and new......

....this is The Shard.....taken from The Tower of London.......two London landmarks...not sure they are the best of neighbours !!!!!

I can't understand how did they allow this. I mean it is an impressive piece of technical stuff, as they all are, but they do not belong there. They lack unity and harmony. They make a wonderful elegant city look hideous.

@boxplayer A 4 day mini holiday.....one postponed for the last two years......! Well timed it would seem as Cornwall is suffering very high winds and torrential rain today !!!

@monikozi There are just so many huge buildings here now......most of them very impressive too....everywhere you look.......I don't dislike them....just wonder if there is a need for quite so many !

@cutekitty you're right, the Shard works but there's too many going up willy nilly, we're losing our skyline.

London is now a mix of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Still undecided about the shard but very much a landmark and quite a spectacle at night.

Fantastic capture! The lone building standing up into the cloudy sky does make me think of a horror/fantasy movie though, lol. Hard to picture that near the Tower of London, though
