I got this shot a few years ago in Montana. We were driving east of Glacier NP when I stopped the car on the road. Connie asked me why we had stopped and I just pointed to this fox walking up beside the road. I rolled the window down and shot away. It eventually got tired of looking at me and returned to heading back up the road.
