I discovered this amazing reredos in a church in Gloucestershire. I was struck firstly by the beauty, and secondly by condition. So many statues and carvings have been damaged over the years, it was wonderful to see something with so much fine detail, like the crossed strap of the bag on the pole.
I really hope that future generations will value this piece of work and it will remain for people to appreciate in the future.
