February 15: Maple Branch on a Sunny Day

Here is a shot of the maple tree branch on a sunny day. A sunny day certainly does not look sunny to me in black and white.
Nothing comes out as we hope they will in b/w do they !! Your little twig is not very easy to do a lot with ! perhaps we will have better luck next week with the leading lines !!

Think I'd prefer colour for this but it does make a wonderful silhouette!

Great shot and focus,

To get the sky a little sunnier you would have to adjust the exposure compensation (the + and - dial). Adjusting the white balance probably does it too, although that's one of my weak spots- I'm not too technical, I just know what dials to turn! Any way it is possible to get that sky brighter. Good shot.

@beryl Thanks for your support. Leading lines are also hard for me, but I hope that they are easier than shooting a maple branch from different perspectives.

@maggiemae Thank you. Black and white is difficult for me. I like looking at BW photos, but prefer to shoot color photos.

@olivetreeann Thank you for your advice. Adjusting the exposure is definitely one of my weak spots.

It’s interesting how black and white conversion can affect the look of a photo beyond just taking out color.
