April 17: Spring Money Plant

In the spring, the money plant has beautiful purple blossoms. It is a biennial and only blooms every two years. In the summer, the plant has green coin shaped seed pods. In the Autumn, the seed pods turn brown. In the late Autumn and winter, the covering of the seed pods fall off leaving a silvery transparent circle. The seeds fall off of this circle. Then, the cycle begins again.
What a neat name for the plant - interesting that it blooms only every other year
