When my mom moved a few years back, she gave me her orchids. They are just sitting in the front yard and I give them no attention. Today, the white one is blooming for the first time. :-)
@Weezilou in tropical areas, orchids grow in trees. It would be better if I fertilized them, but I found a spot in the yard where they should be happy. I see them all the time, but if am glad this one chose Valentines Day to bloom.
Beautiful! I know there are different types of orchids, but I wouldn't have guessed this to be one. I am use to seeing the ones that they sell it flower shops and stores. No orchids blooming at my house!
@skipt07 I think there may be hundreds of different kinds of orchids. My MIL had an orchid house with more than 60. We have another one about to bloom, too!
