For many years, Pompano slept through any redevelopment. Suddenly, they woke up and realized they had all this valuable beachfront property. They rebuilt the pier after it was damaged from hurricanes. There are now several very nice restaurants right at the pier and a small shopping area across the street. It is one of our favorite places to go. One restaurant is completely outdoors and has views of the beach, plus affordable pricing. What more can one ask? Walking on the pier is free.
