Pompano Beach was always a sleepy little area that stayed in the 1970's until recently. Now, there are three beachfront restaurants, a new hotel, a new shopping area with restaurants, ice cream and candy. Not the mention the rebuilt pier. It stays so busy now, it is hard to go to my favorite restaurant! The lights over the street are a new addition.
I heard about this area years ago in the 60s! Not surprised that it's stepped up a bit all these years later! It sounds inviting, but I do know what you mean about making the "old locals" feel displaced.
@Weezilou my favorite place has only been opened 2 years. For the first year, we could go whenever we wanted. Now, it has all been discovered. For many years, we didn’t even go to this beach as there is one closer that had more to offer.
