Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse by darchibald

Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse

This lighthouse was built in 1876. It's called Thirty Mile Point because it's 30 miles from the mouth of the Niagara River. Legend has it that one of the French explorer LaSalle's ships sank here in 1678. Now you can rent the second floor for a week's stay.
Terrific architecture and a very moody looking photo!.

A lighthouse with a difference! I love lighthouses; this one is so unlike the usual lighthouses I see. Its wonderful. Beautiful in BW, I love the trees and the brooding sky.
