For the February word list and today's words: Mail, Stamp and Letter.
These letters date back to 1995, before the internet and any smartphone were readily available.
They belong to me and were written by my now civil partner, Paul.
Each week, we would write letters to one another and phone each other in those early days of our relationship. The anticipation of getting one of these is something that a lot of people miss out on nowadays in my opinion and although admittedly it's much easier to reply to someone via the internet and even chat face to face over the computer via webcam or Skype, surely the old fashioned way is considerably more personal?
Stunning, and I love the narrative. What a great thing to have these letters of your relationship. I have so many of my old letters and I cherish them. Beautiful Darren.
Lovely shot and sentiments, Darren, and I completely agree. Even today, nothing beats getting a letter or card in the mail, although it is such a rare event. This would make a great greeting card!
Hi again nice to see your images again -- this is so lovely and romantic , ,and I agree today's generation miss out on the anticipation and thrill of receiving a love letter I have a bundle of such letters received back in the 60's from my late husband when I was in UNI !!
A great image and lovely story to go with it. I treasure over a hundred letters from my daughter, who spent 3 years in Indonesia pre internet and with no phone contact. I so looked forward to those letters.
Love the shot, love the story. I agree, I miss getting and sending handwritten letters. Of course, they were few and far between because they were a lot of effort.
